Kite surfing: Tarvel Island Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: 20-30 knots Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: 30C Sea Temperature: 25ish Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Took a boat trip to a white-sand island in the middle of the Red Sea. Got
ferried to the shore for the day - just 6 kites had the whole island. Huge
lagoon of flat water, but the wind was bang offshore - a new experience and
a little unnerving!
In the morning the wind was a bit up and down, and sometimes it was a
struggle to stay upwind without straying into the deep water. After lunch
on the boat, the tide had dropped and the wind picked up to 25-30 knots. At
times maxed out on the OR1, popping some huge (well they felt like it!)
jumps, in crystal clear water, surrounded by turquoise seas and white sand
- paradise!
On the way home we had a school of dolphins following the boat as we drank
sundowners on the deck. Al - I think we need 6 stars on the site for days
like this!!
